We think that a discussion, while enjoying a good lunch, is a more efficient way to evaluate the SEC courses and of course the teachers. This way, every student will have the chance to give comments on every aspect of the courses that were given during the first period and on the functioning of the teachers.

We will gather all your comments into one clearly formulated document per course and give them to the teachers, so they will know how the students think the courses can be improved.

We hope that everybody will join this education evaluation to improve the SEC education.

The Science Education evaluation and the Science Communication evaluation will take place at separate times, to work as efficient as possible:

I just wanted to inform/remind everyone about the ‘Information Day’ that we have planned for the London trip. We strongly recommend that everyone attends the meeting should you have any questions, you can get them answered at that time.

What: To inform everyone about the trip and the details of the trip.  You will be provided with a hard copy of the itinerary which will include all that you need to know.

When: April 20th, 2010, 17:30 h

Where: Room A103 of the TN building

After the meeting we will have a borrel.  We will go to a pizza place that Clemence has recommended and after we have eaten all the pizza we can we will be going bowling.  It does not matter if you are good or bad; just come and have some fun!

The pizza will be paid for by your own funds and you do not have to worry about the bowling!

Following on from the success of last year’s sTUDelta, Delta will once again publish a special student edition: Delta 18, to be published on 27 May, will be wholly created by a team of student writers and editors. Would you like to join the team? Would you like to help create a university newspaper that you, the students, really want to read? The first editorial meeting will be held on April 15, and then the 15-member team of Dutch and international students will begin creating this special edition, which is sure to be a collector’s item. Team members will determine the newspaper’s content, write the articles, take photos and create cartoons and illustrations, supported along the way by Delta’s editorial staff. This project aims to help discover what students find lacking in Delta’s present format. As a team member, you will help create the ultimate student newspaper, for and by students. Interested? Please send your CV and a brief motivation letter to Frank Nuijens, Delta’s editor-in-chief, by 25 March: f.w.nuijens@tudelft.nl.

E-service is an electronic helpdesk for TU Delft students, where they can view their personal information and in some cases modify it. At present, this service is only available to students. E-service manages personal information such as address data as well as enrolment information.

It is also possible to indicate whether certain data may be published or passed on to third parties.

E-service replaces the functionality that students were previously offered with the NetID application. E-service is a web application and is thus accessible with a web browser, at https://e-service.tudelft.nl.

we’re planning a trip to London (21-05-2010 to 25-05-2010) to attend the British Science Association’s science communication conference “Audiences for engagement”.

The conference takes place on the 24th of May, but of course we also want to have fun in London. We thought about a science communication related excursion to the London Science Museum or/and the BBC studios.

The maximum costs (including conference (1 day), flight and youth hostel) will be around E250,- We are currently searching for financial support through various means, to be able to lower the costs.

Please join us to have fun together and further our science communication knowledge!

Onderzoekers uit Nederland en Vlaanderen krijgen een forum om hun recent communicatiewetenschappelijk onderzoek te presenteren en kunnen daarnaast van gedachten wisselen met andere onderzoekers. Het congres biedt bijgevolg de mogelijkheid om op de hoogte te blijven van de jongste ontwikkelingen in het vakgebied.

Een van de sprekers is: onze eigen Arjanna!

On the 4th and 5th of february the conference “Etmaal 2010″ will take place in the city of Gent in Belgium. The conference is about recent communication research. One of the speakers is our own Arjanna. The conference language will probably be Dutch.
